I have had a list for a long time, of 3 things that I want to do before I die. In no particular order.... ride in a hot air balloon, see the northern lights, and touch the pacific ocean. I'm terribly happy to say that I can scratch the last one off my list. To me there is a difference, you stand on the beach and the waves wash up on your legs, the ocean is touching you. You bend over to swipe your hand in the water, and you are touching the ocean. Some moments like that need no documentation at all - they are memories that will be forever safe inside your heart. The drive up the coast was truly amazing. The images below are my take on the scenery. The last two photos were just too beautiful to not post :) Enjoy.

I just got back home from an amazing trip out to California. I was there to shoot some engagement portraits and decided to stick around for that famous drive up highway 1. I don't really think that I can express how amazing that drive is - my brain is still digesting it. My eyes are still peeled from it. I have that great feeling, the one where you know you made a life accomplishment. (Insert warm fuzzy here.) That landscape seems forever preserved in time. Here are a few polaroids from some of my favorite pit stops along the way. The 2 images at the bottom are a little preview from the portraits....more to come on that later.

As many of you know I always shoot weddings with a trusted assistant. For the past year I have been working alongside Julia Davis. There really isn't a word to describe her awesomeness....if you were to combine talented, smart, fantastic, super, awesome and dependable all into one word - that might come close. Basically, I am really honored to know her and be able to shoot together at so many events. Check out her personal website here. She has one super photogenic relationship too, and I can't wait to shoot her wedding later this year! Husband to be, Aaron Robbs, is a talented graphic designer you can check out his brand new site here. One weekend Julia, Aaron, and I took some polaroids with the new PX100 film from the impossible project, below are a few of my favorites. Wanna see more? Go to Amber's site the alf memoirs to see some more photos!
